Hopefully the log and excert from the flight will help diagnose the random problem with the new firmware which seems to be worse than before.

https://www.phantomhelp.com/logviewer/17HRY0PDWJAHWQ93IFYV/

It was in normal flight mode and just started either flying down hill or the gimbal was not working.

It recovered and landed in the correct spot.

Any ideas?

Next two flights were fine

I had a similar problem too with the new 0.5000. You can look at my video at 1:15

Hi, Sorry for the troubles that it caused. I would like to ask if this issue is persisting every flight? Could you please try to restore factory defaults and refresh the firmware of your aircraft using the DJI Assistant 2? Please reboot, calibrate the IMU and compass of your drone. Kindly let us know if the issue would persist. You can get the application using the link below. Thank you for the support

I have done six flights with the new firmware.

Four were okay, one had a very similar yaw drift (like the previous firmware) but this flight was by far the worse and I imagine if anything had been near by that it could have crashed.

Did you perform the FW update via the GO 4 app, or via Assistant 2 on your Windows or Mac system?

You should perform the update via Assistant 2, and then restore all factory defaults after the update, and then re-calibrate the compass on the AC, and the sticks on the RC.

I did all the above steps, and my MA flew better than it did when I had it on 0300.

Cheers

I updated it using the DJI app on my CrystalSky screen.

Last time they also had me manually update it via the windows program and recalibrate all sensors and it made absolutely no improvement to the yaw issue that .4 suffered with.

As with the issue with .4, often it would fly fine. Random issues granted are always the worse to fix.

Yes, I also got the yaw glitch issue on my first flight with 0500, but I haven't been able to test further due to bad weather around here

Having seen your, and dor4x's videos, definitely looks like something is out of sorts, but too early to tell what it might be...

dor4x, can you post your flight logs? Wonder if they contain anything similar...

Apart from one very short aircraft interference warning your log looks fine, if you have already refreshed FW then it’s hard to know if redoing it will help,
It’s very clear from your video that the problem is in your gimbal, so IMU calibration followed by gimbal calibration to see if this helps,
You would be best preforming IMU cold.
If all this does not help roll back to .400 and re test it , it should confirm if it is .500 causing your problem.

Hi IM35461,

Had a look at your video (2 minutes) and flightlog (16m24s), would be great to know which part of the flightlog equals the video.

But ; 2 warnings for "Strong Aircraft Interference", shortly after that your MA started to move around in not the way u wanted....
If it is only a gimbal error than your drone wouldn`t move like this, see drone heading and moving lines in the chart.
(same for the speed lines, normal the speed indication and calculated speed are equal line, see how they go apart)
Strong interference can cause lot of problems, so mayby only this is the cause and not the .500 fw update.

cheers

Just waiting for a battery to charge and will then hook it up to my PC and reinstall latest firmware with a reset and recalibrate tomorrow (weather depending).

Cool info

Looking at the video file information the issue started at 14:34:20 to 14:35:06 (looks like a one hour difference from the file stamp information to the log data).

thanks!

I upgraded my MA to .500 (RC ofcourse too) and did not do anything else.
IMU and Compass deep green, did a long test flight and all went perfect. (range, video signal, controls etc)

So it is possible to fly .500 without strange flight behaviour.

Happy landings!

4 out of six flights were okay about the same average I got with 04.

This is the other flight with just a minor yaw error at just after 12 minutes into the video (more like it was in the last firmware).

Firmware refreshed and factory reset complete ready to try again...

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant was that my MA was flawless on 0300, and was semi-ruined by 0400, and now is back to a 0300-like state with 0500

I have now uploaded the full flight - no falling asleep

The problem is between 6:26-7:09 where you can see it jumps, yaw drifts to the right and the horizon goes out of level.

As you will see it recovers and the rest of the flight goes fine.

Took still photos at 1:27 and 10:15 thus glitches in video and RTH cuts in at 14:50 landing at 15:56.

The next two flights were okay and for them all I did was swap the battery, wait for a good GPS lock and take off.

They both went fine and if you need more sleep they are at

Trying Active Track (when area clear)

Flying at up to 160ft up and low flying at 4ft

The Mavic Pro did this after a firmware update about 15 months ago. Same behavior (starting @ 6:26 like you said). I ended up calibrating EVERYTHING including vision thru Assistant. Don’t forget the gimbal also.

Calibrate in the proper order, obviously. Pretty sure this fixed my issue, but DJI we’re pushing a ton of FW updates back then too.

The weather was better today so a chance to try MA after the firmware reload, factory reset and all the sensors re-calibrated again.

Anyway, no major problems but as with the previous version it was back to the jerking right and drifting after precision takeoff in two of the three flights and yaw drifting to the right on a couple of occasions but only a slow drift.

I guess as the .050 list of fixes does not actually list the yaw drift issue that seems only to effect some MA's is not list as something fixed DJI either think the issue does not exist or are still working on it.

JJBspark,
I have the FRAPv34 you designed and use it often just to see all the features  of the data. You mentioned it would be nice to see the drone video matching the flightlog. Have you ever tried to incorporate  the DashWare application with your APP?

I have the MP and had a similar problem as was mentioned in post 26#.

It was a scary Gimbal glitch and was a one time occurrence for me. After doing all the calibrations and reinstalling all updates I am happy to say all is well.
This is what mine looked like:
Gimbal glitch

Hopefully you will get it resolved.

It is a neat program.
I used it to create these indicators from the Flight data

DashWare gauges with it.
