Hi guys

I got my DJI Goggles Race Edition for Christmas in 2017 and really love them, but have several problems with them, in particular in the analog race mode when I am flying my various racing quads using F4 flight controllers, 5.8GHz VTX and Frsky transmitter/receiver.

1. overheating - I cannot fly whilst standing in direct sunlight, even not on a hot day.  I live in England and find that when the sun is out and the temperature is over 22 degrees celcius, they overheat in about 15 minutes if I am standing in the sun.  My buddies (who all have fatsharks) don't have this issue.

2. green bar - I regularly have an issue where when I power up, a green bar appears on the screen and the display is very distorted (usually lots of static, very distorted, and the screen is off by 50%, i.e. the left half of the video feed appears on the right side of the screen and the right half appears on the left side of the screen, with the green bar running down the middle).  I have found that this generally can be avoided if I power up the goggles first and start analog mode, then power up my transmitter, then power up my quad, but still it happens some times.

3. DVR time stamp - I cannot figure out for the life of me how to set the date on the goggles which would thereby set the timestamp of the videos on the SD card.  The recordings all generally end up dated with a date in 1980.  I can't find a date setting anywhere in any of the setup menus.

Do problems 1 & 2 indicate I have a defective unit?

Does problem 3 have an easy fix?

Thanks!

Charles

Also - looks like other people have the same problem (https://forum.dji.com/thread-126806-1-1.html)

Here's a link to an example of the green bar problem:

Also I have a problem where the videos saved on the SD card by the DJI Goggles RE appear very pixelated when viewed on my mac/iphone.  I always have to convert them using mp4 convert software (that I had to pay for).  Here's an example:

Thanks for the help!

Hi, have you figured any of this out? I have the same issue with the recording date being 1980. I also get the green bars and flickering sometimes. It usually works best for me to power up the drone first and then the goggles.
Further, my SD card seems to lose an already recorded video every time I record a new one. The old files simply disappear from the card and it's not full; far from it. Anyone else have this issue?

Hey there- unfortunately the final outcome was I sold the dji goggles RE and got myself some fatshark HDOs to use with my analog racing drones and only fly my DJI using the controller.

If you're into FPV you just need to upgrade to the new low latency DJI fpv gear and write off the old DJI goggles
