Hi guys

I recently went to Chamonix in France to do some alpine climbing, and brought my DJI Spark of course!
I shot a video about the area.

Feedback is very welcome

Great video! Interesting to hear that food on a French hut is great whereas on others not so much. My experience is the other way round: mediocre on Refuge du Bonhomme, excellent on Rifugio Bonatti or Rif. Elisabetta or. Rif. Bella Vista etc.

Enjoyed your video, thanks for posting. It brought back old memories of a good climb we did in July 1978 up the Chardonnet. The route is the Goulotte Aureille Feutren, which we did in very icy conditions. In those days the route was very rarely done, and the hut warden didn't believe us until he saw our tracks. Ice climbing gear has evolved considerably since then. Probably the present warming trend has made the steep goulotte a rock climb. I hope your enjoy these old photos.

Excellent video, and very well explained. Spark seemed to do okay at the high altitude.

I've been watching videos of wingsuit flyers lately (a "flying camera" of another kind), and they seem to fly a lot in the Chamonix region. It's easy to see why.

Grat video, this brings back some memories for me too. Most of them really good ones but also the 2012 mt maudit avalanche after a couple of days in the Albert I hut (i see it was renovated since then).

I’m planning to record more videos with my spark at the mountains (now that I live by the Andes) and yours are a big inspiration. Thanks.

You should definitely bring your drone with you to the mountains! It is absolutely amazing flying up there and I am surprised how well the Spark actually performs.

Just another detail about that climb: the third climber on our rope was Frank Sacherer (on his second technical ice route with me). American climbers familiar with Yosemite climbing history will remember him. Chris Jones book "Climbing In North America" gives some details of his impact from that period.
