Is something wrong with the app you actual have on your phone?
Or with the app from before that?




Oh: Or is in the changelog anything, that is important for the Spark?

We all are, every update.
Just some are like daredevils and jumping on every new version they can get their fingers on.
Which (imho!) is in times of new models not really doing any good to (just) Spark pilots.
Best thing that happens: no differences ;-)
As long the old app on your phone is working, calm down and wait for the reports to pop up
They will, believe me!

I agree with that, I will change if new flightmodes, dronies etc added to the app.

Updated to the latest Firmware (DJI Go 4.3.2) on my Android (S7), and have had couple of long distance flights, P - Mode and Sports Mode with no issues,, all flying good and Telemetry Data just fine..

I'm installing/upgrading 4.3.2 on my spare android phone & I have 4.2.6 on my main android phone just in case. Exactly same model ZTE phones.
I had a perfect experience with the Feb 2018 versions. I think  4.2.8 was ok (?).
Since then, after (about) version 4.2.12, April - I've had video problems & AC disconnections via the app - but the RC remains connected. Even within 10 m (30 ft).
The confusion leaves the pilot to fly with the RC & VLOS alone - no feedback from the app.

So far I've been too 'scared' to test the last 3 or 4 versions - bad weather, too cold, wet etc.  Not the best time of year to search for a 'fly-away'.
Recently, I upgraded the firmware in the RC & AC recently that supports USB. Again, yet to test to see if anything else changes due to weather etc.  (My ZTE android device wont work as a host for USB - no big deal) I can downgrade firmware via the app(s) etc if required.

At worst I'll go back to the older versions that I know worked. The current (4.3.x) app is 60 MB larger (?) - wasting space & resources without many (any?) improvements specific to Spark?

Anyway, just my experience & thoughts so far.

Try 4.2.21. it seems to be a trustworthy version.
I fly it on a huawei M3  and on a one plus 5

And that it gets bigger ans bigger: it has to support more and more drones, modes, features

but: perhaps DJI puts some stuff into the app, that usually gets update with the data base afterwards?

My Asus Android tablet automatically updated to 4.3.2 a few days ago, so far I didn't notice any difference with the previous version. So far so good!

Haven't tried the new version yet. But my experience is that not rooted and regularly updated phones give less trouble.

I am using the Asus ZenPad 8.0, it comes with Android V 7.0. The tablet is just used for the Spark with DJI GO4. Works perfectly, the only negative is that the screen could be brighter, but all the tablets are pretty much the same as far as brightness goes.

Thanks for the information. I share the same idea, although my device is a Samsung, I will test and see what happens and I will leave a feedback here.

Thank you. If the weather helps, tomorrow afternoon I will do a little test flight and if I lock or close the screen because it is taking up more memory space, I will go back to version 4.2.21, it is the one I am using and a little more light in its size and for those who have Android, saved bytes give a big difference in the end.

Not with Android, I also fly using IOS.. (iPad Air 2) and I do use OTG with this set up.. Reason for the two set ups is I use an app to switch over to FCC mode on the Android for better distance,,
