Anyone getting excessive film noise at 100 iso, I have attached a couple of shots here and its not good.
Understand its only a 1 inch sensor but to have this much noise at 100 iso cant be right!




I am sending the drone back for sensor issues as the right side of frame is soft at f2.8 to 5.6 and am hoping the new camera sent back might be better.

Your exposure looks rather dark.
In general that will give you (too) much visible noise.
Expose to the right of the diagram to get the best out of any sensor.

Next thing that might cause for more noise is the profile you are shooting in.
Was it raw?

Raw is the same this is the jpg untouched, with exposure this is a crop at the bottom of frame the sky is top, its exposed correctly.. unless I bracket the shot but for a single still its ok.. Im seeing it during the day in shadows too.

As you know, all digital camera's show some noise in darker area's.
That is just how noise works.

I agree my MP shows more noise than my iPhone.
I guess that is just lack of good signal handling and noise cancelling algorithms.
Still with proper exposure, I get a decent picture out of my MP.

I have read that the M2P sensor heats up quickly.
That might increase the noise too.

The corners will show more noise (with the correction due to vignetting).

The crops you showed here look rather dark.
That will give you more noise.
That was why I asked for some lighter crops to see if the noise is still there.

PS, I only have a MP1.
So can't compare with your drone.
Totally different sensor etc.
I really hope you get it fixed.

Thanks, I hope its fixed too, it seems to be shadows are boosted in camera.
I think the mp1 had less noise.

That is very well possible and one of the reasons I skipped D-Log as it seems to add a lot of noise trying to get a low contrast picture.

Hi Skyris, sorry for the troubles with the camera, I agree with Montfrooij, there would be noise more or less when we shoot at night since there is no enough light, may I verify if the issue persists when shooting with more light? Could you please upload several original pictures to Dropbox or Google Drive and post the link here for further support?
May I have the case number that you sent in the drone so that we can keep an eye on it? Thank you.

I agree you should see some noise in the dark, I was still shooting this at a locked 100iso so noise shouldn't be that bad, I understand if this was automatic and the drone picked an iso of 800-1600 i would expect this. Have a look at the second picture that is early morning with sun up, there is noise everywhere, I will make a folder with some images to share on google drive and post a link in this thread.. most of my requested shots from clients are dusk and early morning, I use the inspire 2 with x7 most of the time but need to use the mavic in places that are hard to launch a large drone, unfortunately I cant send images like this to clients..
my case number is CAS-2331484-B0V4M3 this is for images with blurry right side, hoping I get a replacement camera and this fixes some of the noise issues.

i thinked only my AIR has noise at iso 100, but M2P with 1" sensor  too?!
