As many of you are pro shooters, you’ve probably followed Ming Thein for years. He (obviously) has not only the technical experience, but a great eye for details. He is the Hasselblad employee tasked with tuning & helping develop the camera for the Mavic 2 Pro. For those that may have missed this...

Ming Thein only recently accepted a postion for Hasselblad. he has always been honest on his reviews and that was the condition to work for them, to be allowed to keep doing his reviews without censuring.

He may have  recently accepted a position for Hasselblad but in the thread he says :

Thanks, but I no longer work for DJI/Hasselblad and would have to buy the zoom to test it (was not involved in development of this). Sorry!

However I doubt it changes the review at all.

That's cool, but I also read somewhere that they are also releasing a small mirrorless camera to challenge Sony! Going to have to be exceptional as I love my Sony's

Didn't knew he left. in any case, he was part of the development of the Pro model (not the Zoom) and the drone was available for purchase in Summer while it seems that he left in October. I've always liked his honestly and I believe what he writes is not 'sponsored' by any means.

Yes it is a shame when some one the community trusts looses the some of the visibility of the products.    Companies get paranoid but generally I have found that good interaction and a reasonable amount of openness with, above all honesty is worth far more than $$$$$.

There will be times when a person in that position says "I know but can't say" which is fair enough for an innovative commercial company. It is the honesty that matters in the longer term.

Very interesting. It is interesting to read from a technical standpoint how they made the camera stand out from others and the intergretation of different companies technology.

I tell you: the pictures and video I capture with the M2P seems so unreal!  When I show them to people that are in awe.

Definitely! I am looking to maybe grab one before I head out on a trip because I only got the Air and Zoom right now, but it'll be tough more me to grab since its pretty expensive at the moment.

It's my understanding that Sony makes the sensor in the M2P camera? If so, what role does Hasselblad play? Do they make the lens?

Sony makes the sensors for most all cameras-to my knowledge.

So, they used a larger Sony sensor, but named the camera after the lens?  Haha
