Hi

Following on from yesterday. I made the following changes

- Better use of focus peaking (thanks El Diablo)
- Sharpness +1 / Contrast -1 (thanks El Diablo)
- Kelvin 5400 (thanks MagicRide)
- Smidgen more sharpness in post (thanks A CW)
- Adjusted infinity focus down a couple of stops (thanks M Stuart K/Squashpile/M2Wair)

I also closed the aperture from 2.8 to 5.6 and used an ND16. Settings D-LOG M w/ DJI LUT (+minor grading) / 4K HQ 25fps f/5.6 1/50 ISO 100 (WB 5400K)

Here's the final result - I think it's a considerably improvement? Any other suggestions to make it better?

Why did you choose 25fps, as opposed to 24 or 30fps?

Good question - Mainly as it's a multiple of 1/50 and I am using PAL. Do you think I would get better quality with 24 or 30fps?

I think 30fps is better for most people. 24fps can be used for part of the 'cinematic' look but I find certain motion like panning or the moment of cars to be jerky sometimes.

25fps is an odd one. It is PAL related, but unless you're filming for the BBC or something that'll be shown on broadcast TV, it's not used - and your TV doesn't care as most panels refresh at 120hz.

Anyway, just some opinions on frame rates   the footage looks good, you can clearly see more detail and better colours over the original Mavic.

Thanks theothernt - I shall have a play. I'm very new to videography so learning day by day. I wonder what would happen if I was to add 30fps drone footage to a 24fps or 25fps FCPX timeline. I use a a7rii camera for other footage which seems limited to 25fps @ 4K so I have that to consider also

Thanks again

Very nice I bet it looks pristine when you play it right out of your sd card. Youtube butchers most video specially in HD mode.

I'm in the UK too mate and agree - switch to NTSC and 30p - the image looks slightly better IMO

The Go4 app offers no option to choose between NTSC or PAL.
Don't know if that option is gone with the newest app versions for all drones or if it just not available for the M2 series. Haven't fired up my P4P for a while.

I noticed it had gone on the Mavic Air - looks like it's the way forward now then if the same on the M2P/Z - but you had all of the frame rate options to choose from though on the MA so I presume that's the same.

I'm the same, I still have a lot to learn

If you are curious, I was able to find a quick tutorial on frame rate conversions in FCPX (I use it too). This video uses the older UI (pre 10.4), but everything is pretty similar in the latest version...
