So, I've been downloading some offline maps on the DJI Go 4 app. My question is, doeas it matter how much you zoom in into an area? Is it better to save close up maps or a zoomed out version will work just the same?

When caching the maps, you should zoom into the level you'll be zoomed in at when flying later.

Thanks, but the method used in the link is different than the current Go 4. You need to download them to the device.

It depends on whether you're using an Android or Apple device. Both methods are described there.

I'm using a Samsung S7. I already know how to download them through the App. The question is if it's better to save a zoomed in map or if a zoomed out will do the same?

If you're using an Android version of DJI GO that has the offline maps feature, you don't have to zoom in to save the maps.

If you are using an Apple device how can you check to see that the maps are actually cached before you get to your location?  I may be missing something here, but after I locate the no-internet service area in which I wish to fly, it would be helpful before I get there and have no internet connection to confirm the maps I want are actually on the device.

Which version works with offline maps?

The DJI Go 4 works for sure.

Disable the Internet (cell and/or Wi-Fi services) on your Apple device. If the maps are cached properly, you'll be able to see them.

I wonder if this would also work with google maps app (download offline maps) on IOS? I will have to try when I get home.
