Was filming myself using active track. Mavic 2 Zoom dives towards me then dives at the ground. Controller joy stick was held full up while it was diving and it had no effect. Drone was unresponsive. Would have crashed, but obstacle detection saved it. It stopped just off the side of a hill and I climbed down and grabbed it and did the emergency stop.

Yet another case of malfunction during active track Mavic 2 Zoom. Latest firmware. Galaxy S9 phone.

Maybe I'll try to get a refund and just return this drone to DJI. I bought it for the active track....

WOW! Another attack of a Mavic 2! See my post on this forum , Attack Of The Killer Drone that happened less than a week ago. Several people thought I accidentally tapped on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen and messed up the Active Track but I do not think I did. I had almost 2 years experience with a Mavic Pro 1 and many hours filming with Active Track. I also bought the MP 2 Pro because of the improved Active Track mode. How did you upload your flight log?  Let me know if you have any luck with DJI and a new MP 2. Cheers, From another MP 2 attack survivor.

To upload the flight log I just played it on my phone and used a screen recorder APP. I use "Mobizen". Then uploaded the video.

I haven't opened a case yet with DJI. I plan too. Just haven't got around to it yet.

The drone works good in other modes. I'm pretty sure I didn't accidentally touch the screen, to redirect the active track like you're talking about. And you can see I have full up stick while it dives off the side of the hill. Totally unresponsive.

I had a similar experience when tracking a friend.

It was doing a nice smooth job and then decided to violently fly towards him all a sudden with no warning.

What could have caused this? I'm sure I didn't touch the controls..

The issue seems to occur when the drone is more or less in front of you and can't cope with your speed, it gets too close to you and then tries all it can to reframe the object it is following. Would be better to have the drone just stop instead of trying it all it can to reframe. Had the same situation once when flying ActiveTrack in front of a boat going 23 knots.
To try to avoid this I would set a longer distance between aircraft and object that is being tracked. If you still want the same frame just use the zoom function on your M2Z.

There are some people saying this issue came out with new firmware and only with android phones. You could try to make a downgrade of the firmware until dji will release the new one
