Hello everyone and thanks in advance. Below I will put a link to a video I am currently working on. The first clip of the video, if you look closely at the tree line in the distance on the edge of the lake is stuttery. Seems the rest of the points in the clip are smooth, just that background. Also, I noticed it in a few other clips but not all of them. This was done in 4k dlog 265 30 FPS. Also a side note I went back and looked at the raw footage, thinking it may be something I did in post but same. It's not super noticeable, but enough to bother me quite a bit.

EDIT: So I finished up the video. I used some optical flow on the glitchy tracks and it seemed to work pretty well.  Also did a test in the house, snowing out... 2k 60FPS might be the sweet spot. As soon as I can get outside we will know more. Thanks for the input everyone

Thank again

Might be my old eyes but I really did not notice stuttering.

But I LOVED the video.  Thanks for sharing.

It's your shutter speed. It's because you have a fast shutter that's not synced properly with the FPS of the video. If y ou want smooth motion blur you need your shutter at double your FPS.
So 1/60 in this case. That's where ND filers come in.

I'm afraid you won't be able to get rid of the stutter. Even if you use SS = double fps.
I have that stutter also and it bugs me a lot. Worst is if architecture comes into play.

It happens when you yaw. Panning is ok but when yawing video gets bad.
I guess the sensor cant keep up with it.

I noticed in all these tutorials or great YT videos people hardly yaw.
Most fly straight forward/backward, long curves or they pan.

I miss so much 60fps at highest resolution with this drone.
I don't have that issue with my P4P.

BTW: Very nice video!

Yea, I do use filters. Was that day as well. Also, my shutter speed was at 1/60. BUT since you brought it up I will triple check my settings.

Well, that's a bummer to hear... I sold my P4P for this drone... lol I wonder if 2k or whatever the next resolution down from 4k is, with 60FPS would be a good middle ground. Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. If this is a permanent thing with no workaround I am going to be pretty bummed.

Change your settings to 264 and watch the video thru your phone or tablet to see if there is any difference.

Yes - it works in 2688x1512 when you choose 60fps and SS @ 120.
No more stuttering. Just like the P4P.

So I tried something out in post with Final Cut. "Optical flow" seems to help a lot. GOnna render a video and see it full quality.

Loved your video.
Did see a slight stutter now and again in the video. Wasn't a distraction for me.

Ok so here's the final video. I used optical flow to help with some of the stutter. Seems to work pretty well.

Hi Gnargnarbinks, thanks for reaching DJI Forum. We do appreciate bringing this query to us. Yes, I noticed the stutter or the moire effect on the video. But this effect can't be avoided. You may try to use ND filters to reduce the effect. Great video anyways. We will be looking forward for more videos soon. Thank you.

If it cannot be avoided then why? Is it software or hardware related? I use filters. I know very little about all of this but find it peculiar the camera is bosted to do all these things but appear to really have issues with straightforward filming. Again, I am ignorant to an extent but this is a pretty expensive piece of equipment to be having to my eyes such basic issues. With all this being said, DJI is AMAZING. Mavic 2 is by far the best drone on the market for that price range. Thanks again.

The stutter was quite disturbing if you ask me.
I will have to go out and do more test shots now to see if its realy this bad.

Hi! I think this - very beautiful - video is quite fluid. The judder is very subtle. I didn't get disturbed by watching it. Nice work!

I get a lot of judder during pans. Even for my very slow pans. For landscapes, I usually film at 4k 265 30fps. Shutter 1/60 with nd filters. It is very noticeable and disturbing. Optical flow seems to work fine although I haven't tried it that much yet. But it seems to be a very nice feature.

I read that the sd might be the issue. I use sandisk extreme 64gb. Some say I should change the brand or try a 32gb card to get less stutter. Which sd cards are you guys using?

So I am new posting here, and I have been flying my Mavic 2 for around a year. It has only been in the last month or so that I actually noticed more stuttering, like a lot more. Read this forum and tried some of the suggestions, and even changed to a new memory card. I have not been filming anything other than the usual for me, structures and sometimes wildlife. Nothing seems to work, and that is a problem.

My point is to say that I suspect that there was some sort of software change. Maybe I am wrong, I am not the most knowledgeable on these things, but if I flew for months and only now am getting bad stuttering what changed?

Yeah, noticed the same thing on my drone. First I thought it was because of the replacement drone I've got from DJI, but it happend before. I just filmed less 4K in the past. Obviously the system is not able to deal with too much changes in the picture and is not really writing all the frames anymore as it happends with slow cards.

Oh boy. This is soooooooo typical! A real classic.
What framerate did you shoot with? What framerate has the timeline? What framerate has the export? Do they match? No? There you have it.
If the framerate of your footage does not match the framerate of the timeline, adapt the footage to the timeline before edit. It's a simple one mouse click procedure.
It has nothing to do with shutter speed or slow videocards. It is just sloppy filmmaking. Period.
I'm preaching this for years to all my editors. If it gets forgotten he or she has to feed the coffee jar.
Before you edit make sure all the footage matches. Otherwise it stutters.

The M2P does have issues with stutter especially on sideways or fast sideways movement.  Quite possibly due to the compression.
Even with matched rates, correct shutter speeds flying parallel and pointing to rather than any other angle produces noticeable stutter at far lower speeds.
