So in general camera use and other accessories, it's normally recommended to take out batteries when not using the device. That's why I'm wondering if it's a good idea not to keep one's Ronin-S connected to the battery grip at all times. It's actually quite handier to keep it set up at all times but maybe this is not a good idea for battery life.
Any suggestions?

Hi, thanks for reaching the DJI Forum. We do appreciate bringing this query to us. Yes, in general, it is safe to store batteries, especially when not in use ie: drone batteries, cameras, and the likes. Yes, it is quite handy when it is connected but it will compensate the integrity of the battery health. You may do so but be sure to use it at least twice a week. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. Thought this might be important to keep in mind although it's quite a pain to have the gimbal dismantled all the time if not in constant use.

Maybe some gaffer tape over the connections to prevent the circuit from being active?

Hi, we highly not recommend putting anything ie: gaffer tape and the likes for we cannot guarantee the integrity of the said object that may harm the battery terminal connections to the gimbal.  You may also try to consider purchasing the battery adapter to make good use of your grip while it is dismantled from the gimbal as it can work as a power bank to charge external devices (e.g, mobile devices, tablets) connected to adapter's USB-A port. Hope this helps.
