pan lock when you switch on the r-s and when you press and hold trigger it should lock?
my r-s does nothing execpt sit there like a limp rag, i walk forward with finger on trigger and camera and gimble decide to go  which ever way they want,
yes done new firmware.old firmware auto this auto that, smooth track on off on off, does this help the gimble?..............NO
is anyone else having same trouble or has anyone fixed the problem?

1. Is the Pan axis balanced properly before powering on? What is the balance status in the APP?
2. Is the knob tightened?
2. Will the gimbal re-center when your press twice the Trigger Button?
3. Will the Pan axis drift or off-center when you place it still?

Thanks for the details, by knob, I mean the lock knob in the Pan axis.
Please tilt the device 45°, then check if the Power value of the Pan motor in the APP is in the range of +/-5. If yes and the issue persists, please share us a short sample video, thanks in advance.

sorry what you call a knob i call screw. yes it is tight,
the power value sitting on the level pan -1.tilt-1.roll 0.
when it tilt r-s 45 the pan is between -4 and -6

as you can see once up double click to recenter thats fine ,then hold down the button you have no control over roll.
i have done the joint angle offset calibration as well but no difference

is this another of these yes you have a problem with our kit (or should i say kits) inspire 2 grounded, ronin-s got a life of its own and no control after weeks of getting in touch and sending video
nothing, you read other people on the forums saying how bad dji are then you think you will give them the benefit  of the doubt , i have spent a lot of my hard earned cash with dji,
1 inspire 1, 1 osmo raw, 1 inspire 2 with 12 batteries , 1 ronin-s. plus a whole pile of bits to go with all this kit, now i can't use half of it because it does not work or will fall out of the sky and kill somebody or something, i get it that you are to busy with all the other people having all there problems, i would just like an answer do i sent it back and can i get one that works?

Im having the same problem, tilt and pan lock not functioning.
My ronin s is updated with the 20181119 firmware.
Any solution guys?

The video that was posted is exactly how the gimbal is suppose to behave.

If you have SmoothTrack on for Pan, Tilt, or Roll the gimbal should follow your movements in those 3 axes.
You can turn SmoothTrack off for any of the axes.
If you hold down the trigger, it cancels out SmoothTrack for all the axes meaning the gimbal will not follow your movements whether you pan, tilt or roll.

so i have just done a reset on gimbal, and switched of smooth track  on everything, lift up gimbal and start to walk forward without holding the trigger down after about a couple of steps
the gimbal want to go off to one side it will not stay locked in front, if i do the same with what is supposed to be trigger locked same result.

Turn down your deadband setting. Deadband is a window where the gimbal won't react to your movement. Try a deadband of 3 and a Smoothtrack speed of medium or high. You'll see the gimbal follow your movements and then adjust the SmoothTrack values to your liking.
