Another spectacular sight at the 940 year old tower of London - displaying thousands of hand lit candles around the grounds as a mark of respect for the centenial anniversary of the armistice to end World War I on 11 November 1918 and the millions of brave people who died as a consequence of that horrific war.

I Never miss the Cenotaph Parade Mate, it always should be remembered they gave their all for us today, so we can sit safe on our sofas. 12 Years Royal Engineers, and my boys currently serving with the Signals.

Last years is hard to beat, now that brought the terror of war home to a lot of people. Millions of young men sacrificed on both sides, terrible.

The chimes of Big Ben at 11AM on 11/11 always put shiver down my spine mate. Fair play to you and your boys. My Grandfather was an officer in the British Army during WWII - the guns made him partially deaf though I swear he put it on sometimes as an excuse not to hear my grandmother nag. Bless um' both.

That is the biggest concern of today for sure! Another reason why it is so important to remember and hopefully learn so as not to repeat. A third world war would be fairly quick though - the UK alone has enough nuclear war heads to blow up the entire planet three times!

My Dad was a tank driver in WWII, he came back totally deaf in his right ear (the breach of the big gun was beside him about ear level).
Lots of respect and honor for all who served.
