Hello Ronin Users!

So, the aim of this Thread is simple: As far as i know, only Cinemilled now is offering third party adapter for the Ronin in order to be able to mount it onto Tripod, Cranes etc. My question is: does anyone know of any third-party company that produces adapter for the Ronin AND Ronin M that can be used to mount it ont other equipment? I tried researching that but so far to no avail.. I will keep looking out for possible quick release system (That cost less than $300 and possibly in Europe) and i would like to see if anyone of you Ronin AND Ronin M users have found any company / individuals manufacturing such items

I have a local machinest who crafts components for several photography products that we sell. I also own a Ronin-M and could have him look into crafting a QR plate for the Ronin-M.

What is your price point?

The price you are willing to pay will likely dictate if it would be worth our while exploring manufacturing such an item.

Let me know.

I'm also interested.
The Ronin Camera Base Plate Universal - DJI-R003, for the Ronin-M, is smaller than the base plate for Ronin.
I don't have the original Ronin, but people at RoninRigs (facebook page with video) showed how the original Ronin base plate can be attached to Manfrotto 357. So I went on to make sure that the Ronin-M plate can do the same, but sadly not. It's lot smaller.

It's confusing that Cinemilled etc talks about their mount, when it's only for the even smaller "top mount", not for the base plate (DJI R-003).
And the base plate would be great, as I could use that with my tripodhead rig.

So are those two above, for the baseplate or for the top mount?

Currently DJI hasn't the universal mount for Ronin-M, we will decide to launch based on customer's demand to this part. Thanks for your interest.

Hi everybody,

Thanks a lot for your replies!

noipego, the link you shared i believe it would work only with the Ronin, not with the Ronin-m! Still, a good alternative to cinemilled! Also At the moments the item sponsored by Ronin Rigs are on sale on ebay here:

http://www.ebay.ie/sch/2ndunitfi ... rmrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

Obviously those Items are only for the Ronin, NOT the ronin-M

Have to say, roninrigs items are WAY more affordable than cinemilled. At the moment, the same items from cinemilled (ronin universal mounting plate + steadicam arm adapter) will set you back of a nice $730 + postal cost. I don't see myself buy anything From cinemilled anytime soon, BUT they are so far the only one i have found who HAVE accessories for the ronin-M:

http://cinemilled.com/shop/dji-ronin-mini-accessories/

Yet again, the same set of items are Slightly Cheaper, only coming over $500, but of course, you have to add the postal cost as well.

About DSLR Solutions proposal:

I Think that any honest Indipendet filmaker (meaning people-who-still-have-to-keep-a-day-job-to-fund-their-movies) would be happy to pay anything between £150 to £200 for (I live in the UK so i use £ unfortunately) the same sets of items for the Ronin-M (Steadicam Armpost Adapter + Quick release universal plate ) cinemilled is currently offering, Also as the market will grow, we all can agree that a good product at a very competitive price will drive the other competitors to either lower their costs or simply disappear from the market! Talking only for the quick release plate, I think an honest price for it should be not more that £110.

A little Footnote:

Through Facebook, RoninRigs hinted they should have an adapter for the Ronin-M in 2 weeks time!

Happy days fellas!

Hi everybody,

Thanks a lot for your replies!

There is in Germany another mount to get.

Look on "droneparts.de

They have 2 kinds. 1 for the Ronin and 1 for the Ronin M (in 14 days)

The second kind has the same safety as the Ronin M.
The other one fits to. But does not have thhis safety

Would it have been too much to expect that either Ronin would have had an industry standard dovetail like Arca Swiss or Arri ... Jesus H, yet another f@%&ing completely incompatible dovetail to deal with.

I would like to mount my Ronin-M to a jib. I read on the DJI website that it is possible:

"MOUNTS TO ANYTHING
Easily mount your Ronin-M with a quick-release system that is compatible with a wide range of universal connections. Remove the top bar assembly in seconds and put your Ronin-M on a jib, crane, tripod, or anything else."

My question is, How? I cannot find any “universal” mounting solution except for the ludicrously expensive Cinemilled Quick Plate. It appears that DJI's claim is a little far-fetched...

www.sk-kran.de in Germany offers a ronin and a ronin m adapter for tripods and cranes. The system includes a hard coated quick-release system with metric threads for sachtler and vinten dovetail plates , an adapter for abc and panther lightweight cranes and a mounting solution for the ronin wireless control to the different crane tubes. The system costs 399,-euro plus tax and transport and is engineered by aircraft engineers and cameramen. "Made in Germany"

You can find the ronin adapter for cranes here:

sk-kran.de/de/zubehoer-ronin

They have a lot of experience with lightweight camera cranes and remote heads. Everything is "Made in Germany".  So they know what they are doing.

Hey Thomas thank you! I checked the website out, and it was serious straight away . i think i have visited the english version. Anyway, you know you can count on Germans for quality! still I think €400 it is a bit too much for me at the moment.. Still, i bet the price is more than fair for a lot of other people in better financial conditions than me!
