One piece of information missing is that if you have your Part 107 that doesn't mean you ALWAYS have to fly under Part 107 rules. If you aren't flying commercially and just want to fly under hobby rules that's also ok.
I think the camera and gimbal is a little better on the Mavic Air, but everything else about the MPP is better. I think that it's just another tool to add to my bag that will help me get the shot in CERTAIN situations, but not all. I like it so far. It's always fun to fly something new.
Do you have some special license to do that? I can't think of anywhere that's legal around me unless I totally don't grasp the flying laws behind drones.

The only law that I can think of that I bent (not broke) is the line-of-sight stipulation. But the lights on the MPP are hella bright and I could literally see them blinking from 1000s of feet away. Other wise my city has no current drone regulation. Minnesota only requires registration for commercial drones "Registration with MnDOT is not required for unmanned aircraft operated solely for recreational use." I stayed away from airports and under 400 foot altitude. FAA requires a night waiver only if you're flying under Part 107 license.
