I was wondering if anyone was able to calculate the potential maximum range of an Inspire 2 in the circumstances of a fly-away? I haven't been able to find anything.

Of course, there will be lots of influencing factors in a real life situation, such as head or tail winds, temperature, battery charge, speed etc. However, it would be interesting to know a kind of baseline range, assuming no wind, fully charged batteries and temperatures in the 'normal' range (around 10 Celsius to 20 Celsius where I am).

I think it would help in working out what the risk is to, say, a nearby airport or similar.

It would depend on the speed the drone was flying. At a constant speed 30MPH the drone could fly 7.5 miles in 15 minutes.

A task next to impossible, considering all factors and variables involved.

Worse case scenario.

Caught in a downwind with motors locked on full power in ATTI doing 60MPH for 20 mins.

It's going to travel 20 miles before it crashes into a gathering of hippies enjoying themselves around a campfire singing ging gan gooly gooly gooly watcha..
