Aloha Greg,

Do not buy it then.  Wait a year and see if the price comes down.

Hi Greg, Cetacean has explained, the Waterproof Case will need to be purchased separately if you would like the waterproof function. Thanks for your attention.

Not easy to waterproof a gimbal with moving parts. But I was hoping it would at least be splash/rain resistant...

Hi, as of the time being, we don't have the exact release date of the waterproof case. Kindly check our website from time to time for further updates.

Someone on YouTube did mention that the diving case is Huge as it needs to be big enough to cater for the movement of the Gimble...   Can't comment  until we see it ...

Yes, that's true. I've never seen a gimbal being operated under water before. The casing must be big enough for the gimbal to move freely in all directions.  But I assume the diving case also needs some way to control the gimbal and start/stop video. Will be interesting to see how they solve this.

I'm more curious about all the air trapped inside.. Imagine tying a small balloon to a stick and then trying to go under water and point that stick.. I bet its going to not work out so well as you try to force it from rising to the surface

LOL and added to that, all the condensation...  Be interesting to see it in action..

underwater? GoPro7.
not only because waterproofing,
but a wider angle lens is better.
the FOV of OP  will be narrowed when using underwater, similar to a 45mm lens on a full frame camera.

Lets hope that DJI will figure out a way to prevent the inside lens from fogging up/condensation due to the heat of the unit vs. outside water temperature

There is a Huge Dome attachment you can get for GoPro Cameras which are great underwater and a split video of half under and half above the water.. Some Awesome results..  BUT.... It suffers from condensation and water droplets forming on it..   I would imagine the Osmo Pocket would have a similar issue..
