To be a really solid shooter with DJI's 'prosumer' line .. you need  to be a triple threat guy..

a good pilot  - get the bird where you want, how you want with good compositions, control, and safety

a good photo(cine)grapher - knowing light, composition, in camera controls-settings-perfomance of you equipment ..

and lastly and probably most importantly

a good post artist - knowledge in curves, edit, flow, color, cut, storytelling.. etc ... CRITICAL to getting the most out of the capture...

unlike full frame shooting there just is less margin for a bad capture to move it around in post due to lower bitrate, resolution, camera noise.. etc..

you have  to have a good shoot and know how to clean it up...

mad respect for everyone out here that gets killer results with this level of equipment

I think after flying these RC machines for so long you become desensitised to your capabilities and take for granted the amount of planning, effort and relative skill that goes into capturing anything with these crafts. There are so many things to consider and I'll never forget my hands shaking when I did my first ever flight with my Phantom 3 Professional. I actually find flying a drone and lining up still captures more complicated and demanding than driving a car. I too have a lot of respect for those engaged in this hobby and totally agree with your points mate.

post baby post... you can turn chicken sh*t into chicken salad with a magician at the grading / photoshop station
going back and looking at what could be done with old pictures taken with 4MP cameras with software that didnt exist back then.. hard to believe

I am kind of shocked at what can be squeezed from the 4 yo cell phone camera in the mavic pro.. but the in camera settings have to be right and post is a must unless lighting is perfect...

Wow Andy, you done it again, cracking shots and that bird is getting some serious air time..... We are still grounded, high winds and tomorrow low wind but pouring with rain lol
