I always wanted to get a video of the Javelina heard in my back yard. The other day I caught a glimpse of a black spot moving about .25 miles away. (See Google Earth view) Using the binoculars I saw they were the Javelinas. I had one battery charged up so I went for it. The sun was low and it made it hard to find them with all the shadows. I keep to a high altitude since they have acute hearing (very poor eyesight) but they did hear me coming and scattered. After a few minutes they were OK with the buzzing noise and went on their merry way. Javelinas have a scent gland on the top of their rump covered by long hairs. They will rub their scent on rocks and tree stumps to mark their territory, as well as rubbing the scent on each other to help with identification. As seen in frame 0.40. Other names for the Javalina are Peccary and Skunk pig. Watch it in 1080p HD
I used the zoom effect in Davinci Resolve to get a closer view.
