Did some filming on a boat yesterday.  Being that we were on a moving boat I tried to change the home point to be dynamic rather than the static take off point,  Every time I tried ot make this change, the app claimed that my mobile phone did not have a strong enough GPS signal?  Even though the Go 4 App map always showed a blue dot where I was...

Any ideas?  Using a iPhone 7

How many satellites were showing?  Could the boat structure have been interfering with gps?   But you did manage to recover the drone while boating/moving?

Dont remember the amount of satellites but it was over 10, enough for it to have a green ready to fly notice.

it was easy to recover the drone, it just screws up the RTH battery notice because it thinks its really far away from the home point.

as far i know i have read on this forum that dynamic homepoint does not work using an apple....

What you are trying to use is not Dynamic Homepoint  it is resetting homepoint to controller.
Dynamic homepoint reset the homepoint to the location of drone if it moves more than 15 meters.
Dynamic Homepoint do not work on Mavic 2.
Resetting Homepoint to controller has not worked on Apple devices for months
but has been working for some members lately after IOS update.

Nope, the other way around.

If you move, let`s say. 100 meters away from the takeoff point you can set your new postion as the new HP, so drone will return to your new pos and not the old take off position.

Yes, but there is a mis-understanding bout were are talking.

I have tested the resetting a new homepoint during a flight (MA), not the automatic hp setting during active track.

Same here. I newer use RTH and have newer used auto reset Home Point.
I use reset homepoint to controller to save time when searching in the mountains as it give
me added flight time in search when flying from moving car.

It would seem to me, that if you set the home point on the boat, that is well and good, but - the boat is moving to, from, and along the land that is near-by, so it is being changed from what it originally was when the home point was set.  Don't forget the sensors and their job. Just a newbie putting in a theory.
