Today was an exceptionally good day for winter flying. Snow-covered trees, no wind, temperature at about 0, so the fingers, telephone and the battery did not immediately freeze over, and soft light.

Here are a few shots, taken close to where I live, with one view of the Oslo fjord.

Truly, taste is subjective - some liked the second top-down shot, some liked the third.

I made two versions of the ice flake patters image - the other more cropped, taken from a lower altitude. I chose this image, as it gives more context. And it's in black and white to accentuate the patterns.

In general, the top-down shots are one of my favourite aspects of the aerial photography - the quite mundane subjects, which you grew accustomed to seeing - like that tree grove - turn into something completely different.

The top shot turned out calm and serene. Usually there is a heavy boat traffic through this narrow strait, but on a day like this, it feels like everything around - natures, boats, people - are holding their breath, waiting.

I'll try to make a video clip from yesterday's flights, if I manage to make heads and tails of DaVinci Resolve
