I am a paranoid person and I like to keep my drones heavily protected.  I am looking into getting the most durable case I can get that will protect my Mavic 2 Zoom from impact, water, and pressure changes.

I've been looking at the following cases:

- The official mavic 2 protector case: https://www.amazon.com/DJI-Prote ... ic+2+protector+case

- The PGYTECH protector case: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/p ... lsft=BI%3A514&smp=Y

- The GO Professional Case: https://www.amazon.com/Professio ... YB9NMRGSG7AMXH43N4Q

- And finally the Pelican Sky Series iM2100 case: https://www.thepelicanstore.com/ ... 100-for-dji-mavic-2

Which one of these is the most resistant to the damages I talked about (mainly worried about fall protection)?

Does anyone have any better recommendations?

I thinks the official M2 protector case works the best

Personally I find the heavy and large hard cases in conflict with what the Mavic stands for (compact/light) nor are they really necessary imho unless you regularly fly in harsh environments ie you have to get to them by trekking first.

Still, when I had a look at them briefly (before dismissing them fast) they all seemed very similar. You are paying more for the better known brands but really, they are all very similar, all made in China, all offering similar protection, no matter if they are twice the price.

It probably doesn't matter to you considering your 'military requirements'  but I settled on a PolarPro rugged semi hard case. - Very happy with it. Superbly made, smaller, lighter and more space than most hard cases. - Not 100% waterproof but then I rarely go swimming with my drones ... .

Good luck

I have mostly MC-Cases for my drones they are excellent cases and German made. The inserts are all water cut from solid blocks.

I also have the DJI Protector case, also very good and well made. The internal block is mouldered and has a higher density that the MC-Cases version. This is the same material used for the Inspire cases.

I would recommend either of these. I have tried the cheaper cases, but found them all of questionable quality. I would rather spend a bit extra for my investment.

i would pass on the Sky Series and PGYtech as for the cost they dont really hold a lot of usable accessories. the DJI and GPC as well as the MC are all great and hold a lot MC being the most but also the largest with GPC being middle ground. the DJI is the smaller but holds more and also the RC slot as removable foam blocks to nicely fit the new Smart RC. Ive seen GPS has a smart RC case in the works and MC now has a block available to convert one opening in their case to fit the smart RC.

me though i have the DJI case and am very happy with it

I think I just posted in another thread that although I really like the size of the Fly More Kit case I am going to end up with the DJI hard case or maybe even the MC case if they come out with a modified insert to accept the SRC.

Question for you TruGreen; what are the two green-ish blocks and the black square thingy below them?

I am sort of hoping the black square is the end of the charging hub because I would want to include all of my accessories in the hard case unlike the FMK case where I can only get the flying essentials in minus my fourth battery.

Would also want to include the SRC charging adaptor & cable in the hard case also...

Thanks & kind regards,

the two green boxes are 3D printed prop boxes, each box contains a full set of spare props and yes the thing below them is the hub charger. as for the SRC charger cable and wall plug. the cable is seen above the SRC and the wall plug is under the bird

There's quite some space under the aircraft then if you can store the 13A->USB adaptor under there?

I like the idea of a hard case for props...all I need is a 3D printer then!

I use https://mc-cases.com  The Mavic 2 Explorer case.

Cases and bags are very personal and depend on what kit you want to carry and how you want to use it.   There is no  One Perfect Case.
MC Cases are good quality and well thought out at a reasonable price.    I like the one I have.

I looked at 4 other cases from well known manufacturers with good reputations before  deciding on the Explorer. Others are just as happy with cases from the other makers.

The best thing is to see them in person. next youtube videos. but do think about how you want to uses them and what you want to carry.  I still have the DJI fly moor bag that I use  when all I need is drone, one battery and controller. (obviously spare props )  but for anything else it is the MC Explorer.

For me, the issue is I never used my phone, either I was using a dedicated tablet or now I use the 8" CrystalSky, so this is what I found, it carries everything plus the mount.

I carry 3 batteries and then have room for 2 CS batteries plus the car charger. Great price point. The CS itself goes in the lid and it all fits nice, complete kit (for me that is).

theres a decent amount of room... this pic is before i got the SRC... but the space is meant for the car charger from the fly more bundle

They reminded me of a sore subject. Three drones died from my blows. Really need to think about protection. Thank you for creating this topic!

I picked up this one recently here in Hong Kong.  It must be a different one than is being sold on Amazon because I don't feel any pressure closing it at all.  It's perfectly snug.  As close as you'll get to the official DJI slim Mavic air case.

Do you have to unscrew the sticks from SRC or not?

I have the Go Professional that holds the Smart Controller and 5 batteries, I like it for storage and some jobs.

As a commercial photographer, I have a ton of other ways to carry it on jobs so the case is mostly for storage at home.

Hi JAgraphics, do you store a monitor in the lower section of the case?  If so, how easy is it to pull the upper tray out when it is still full, or mostly full of things?
