I have been asked about my avatar and what it is. It's a photo of Space X 9 launched from Cape Canaveral back in June of this year. Since there is no General Discussion Area that I'm aware of, I'll just post this here. It was launched in the early morning hours 275 miles down the coast from me. This particular launch used a heading going northwest up the coast and I was able to snap a few cell phone photos and a raw cell phone video. Enjoy

Dec. 18: A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the U.S. Air Force's first third-generation navigation satellite for the Global Positioning System (GPS 3-01) from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida at 9:24-9:50 a.m. EST (1424-1450 GMT).
In 2019 they have some also scheduled. One on the 18th of Jan.

Hopefully you might get some more shots of it.

I was at work so I didn't have any photography equipment with me but the cell. That video would have been spectacular in 4K from OSMO. Hopefully next time.

Really cool! We lived in Orlando in the late 70's, tried to go watch every Shuttle launch we could from Jetty Park. That stuff never gets old.

I used to watch them right from my driveway here in SE Georgia. They were quite impressive even from this far away.  I miss seeing them but the X9 kinda fills the void.

Kevin, very cool.  Thanks for sharing.  I don't suppose you have a higher res version than is uploaded to YouTube that you could try to upload again?  I think if you try to upload directly from your phone, it defaults to a lower quality version unless you change some settings and allow it to upload in HD.
