When ever I do the calibration like the illustration, I get alot of yaw/compass errors. Resulting in ATTI-mode
When ever I do it according to the text, everything is just fine!

How do other pilots perform this? Please leave a comment!

Regardless of which is best pratice, this dialog-box should be updated.

I usually do the compass calibration with the nose down. Either way works for me though.

I do mine as the instructions in the app but I do that outside the house.

I don't remember. I think I went by the text. I've only done it twice, once by mistake.

I believe you had alternating red and yellow flashing with the aircraft that requires to calibrate the compass. Have you calibrated the compass outside already? The main goal of this topic is to get DJI to update the text or the illustration.
Such a simple task...

When I do it like how the text says and face the front down I get error message. I do it like how it illustrates, face its side to the ground and I get a compass calibration success. Very confusing indeed.

Written: Face the nose down, then .....
But in the pic there is a AC in STB (Starboard) pointing to ground -Mode to spot.

Which, however, is irritating but also rising the question:
Does it matter, if people using bow (nose), stb or port, or does it not?
If not, can they point the cam into the air, too?
Because then you could make it easy:
after horizontal rotating point it vertical to the ground and rotate it again
