Got my New Phantom 2 Vision + yesterday.. Range Extender won't connect anymore

A really disappointing 24 hours. Unboxed my Phantom 2 Vision + yesterday, charged it, flew it for a long time in FPV mode (2 batteries, total time 30 minutes). Took it inside, charged the batteries and went out a few hours later to give it another go. Can't connect to the wifi. Spent hours resetting range extender and rebinding.
What I found is that if you reset the range extender you can connect to wifi no problems. The moment you bind to the Phantom - the range extender disconnects wifi and won't allow reconnection. Green light on power, flashing and solid lights on system. Phantom operates fine as a chopper but zero camera functionality.

I have installed the Mac app and upgraded all firmware out of desperation, I am now out of ideas. Help!

I have tried multiple wifi devices, no go. I was using an iPhone 5S successfully.

I have caught up with a friend who has a vision plus and we have eliminated the wifi extender as the issue. I connected to his drone fine with my extender and could view his camera. He was unable to connect to my drone.

Yeah - I am coming to that conclusion based on what I have read. Is this a common fault? I hope this is under warranty! One day dead is not good.

yes it seems to be happening often according to the reports I've seen.  Someone that disassembled a Wifi unit noticed that the heat sinks had poor contact  to the components which could certainly lead to failure

I bought a new WIFI module from EE Hobbies (Australia), fitted it, and its as good as gold. Now I need to see if DJI will replace my old one under warranty. Help DJI? Existing case 33302.

I think what he means is that before resetting the RE unit, open the app and go into the binding section and make a note of the SSID and MAC address.
If its to late then the MAC address or the QR code should be on the phantom box, failing that you can turn on just the camera and use a wifi scanner to find the hidden SSID of the camera and its MAC address.

I use this thread up again..
I've just received my brand new P2V+ 3.0 from DJI, but seems to show same problem with wifi.
I can connect to the wifi all seems ok, but when start engines connection drop and can't regain connection for a while. In any case it always drop connection after engine start.
I've updated firmware (3.14) and upgraded range extended (from App Vision) to use 3G/4G data on the phone.

Range extender need reset after "upgrade"? any suggestion?

SO you have the video feed on the phone showing ok, until you power on the engines then the video picture freezes/ disappears/ you get phantom connection broken, which one.

If this has happened on 2 different quads could your phone be the issue ??

Ah no no I've just a brand new P2V+ 3.0. This problem had showed the first time I get it out of the box. I've tried every solution, firmware, different phone/tablets, I connect to the drone and to extender via ssh to catch some config error. ... no clue.
When the phantom say Ready-to-fly(GPS) and start ESCs connection drops miserably ... (video and tracking data)
Now I shipped P2V+ back to DJI. I think wifi module on the drone is faulty.

I'm having the same problem with the Wifi Connection dropping off and the camera not streaming to my iPhone

I am trying very hard to read and understand how you charge the WiFi Extender to a Phantom 2 Plus. There is a phone port which I assume you use to plug into from the mains for (a length of time) until the battery is charged! How long and how would you know if it were fully charged?

Like most "pilots" I need to know how the Quad copter works? Any help would be very much appreciated

Lastly, does anyone happen to know where in the UK we can buy a replacement 3s Lipo "AH battery that lies flat and is the same as the Phatom 2 Pluss Wi fi battery please.
