Yeah, that will have been difficult to explain if you find a police officer who is after drones
I know a local officer very well and he told me 2 guys were fined the other day, but they were flying way more to the right here and annoyed some people when they flew over their gardens and refused to go away after being asked.
I am sure we all do that sometimes, especially when you know there's a great shot to be had! But there's a very big difference between edging up to the limits of a rule and not knowing there is a rule!
This is why this forums like this are so good. People learn what is acceptable drone behaviour and what isn't and the more that trickles down, the less likely it is that legislation will come in to force us into the realms of the lowest common denominator.
I was watching a video about the Inspire2 and the flier was approached by building security saying they couldn't fly there (they could, they were in limits) because someone had recently hit the building with a drone and broke a window. But that's like saying 'Yeah, sorry, you can't drive your car on that freeway because someone had an accident and caused some damage'. It just doesn't add up. Still: as they say, 'Give a man a hat..."
