Fellow Droners/Dronies,

Today I take a step closer to getting my first FAA107.29 Daylight waiver. Don't want to jinx it but they didn't say no...they wanted some additional information which I plan to provide...feeling pretty good about it...they also got back with me pretty quickly. It only took them ten (10) days to respond.

Yes, that is the right wavier . Hopefully you included your Strobe light info. Also, radio monitoring and Cell contact info helps. The more info that you give them the better. I have done quite a few of these and all without any issues.

Kenny, will that waiver (if approved) be for a specific date and time or would there be a window of days or how does that work?

I will be approved for a specific location, in this case a couple square miles as it is a corporate campus, but the approval will be good for a year at the least hopefully longer.

Yeah I included my strobe light information, the mounts I will be using the placement and color of the lights (using multiples)...the manufacturers specs. I have also included information about using VOs...details about the site. Flight and operational safety. I thought I was pretty thorough...they just want some additional information. Will probably overload a bit just to be safe.

What strobe and light packages, mounts, placement and colors are you using? I'm assuming conventional color scheme here but just wondering. Also wondering what lights and strobes manufacturer you chose and why for future reference.

I have selected the Strobon Cree lights with the mounts made for the Phantom 4. I chose them because they meet the FAA guidelines, they are small and light weight and not too expensive.

The light configuration I am proposing are white a green on the front and red and white on the back. This is help with orientation at a distance as well as being a more traditional helicopter lighting layout.
