Live Video Strem on my phone shows terrible disturbances.

The Video on the Copter SD Card is correct.
This happened at home as well as outside

Drone SW version V01.00.500  (Tried V01.00.0400 as well with factory reset)
RC SW Version   V01.00.0200  (Tried V01.00.0100 and V01.00.0000 as well)

Phone Xiaomi redme 5 plus.
Android version 8.1.0
CPU 2.00 GHz
Ram 4.00 GB
USB Debugging on.

DJI GO 4 Version 4.2.16 (latest Version that worked without video disturbances)

I tried all DJI GO 4 Versions between 4.2.16 and the latest 4.3.8 without any success!

What has been changed between Version 4.2.16 and 4.2.20

Any suggestions

I tried my Samsung S4 this worked fine with latest DJI Go 4 APP.
My Galaxy tab s2 SM-T813 same problem as Xiaomi redme 5 plus. Disturbtion in Video transmit

My Xiaomi redmi 5 plus worked fine until  an OTA update took place which changed thr IUMI 10.

But why is it working well with DJI GO 4 APP 4.2.16 ? Something must have been changed in the later Versions that causes this problem even when  my phone is not official supported

Is it the cached video that is recorded on your phone that has these disturbances or is it the actual live stream you see while you are flying that that has it?

all the devices you mentioned are getting pretty old or are fairly lower end and all of which may be causing it to struggle to decode things properly, dji go app is fairly heavy handed and can chew up CPU and GPU cycles on older and weaker hardware.  the other thing maybe happeing is the redmi 5 you mentioned got an update, that update could have changed how decoding system works..

things i siuggest you try before replacing decided or anything:

remove the app and reinstall, to clear out possible corrupt files

change wifi channel on your mavic air in the app.. maybe issue with it having a corrupted signal carrier form high interference or something

close any and all background apps and services on your phone, and uninstall other heavy handed apps that maybe chewing up cycle/GPU cycles away from dji-go 4.  facebook, FB messenger and instagram based apps tend to use a lot of background resources..

Before  the recording has been startet the transmitted image looks fine.
This in my appartment as well as in free nature.
It happens just a couple of seconds after the record has been startet.

To be sure i reinstalled the latest app to my Xiaomi redme 5 plus again.
Same behaviour with the Galaxy S2

To be sure i reinstalled the latest DJI 4 go app again on my Xiaomi redmi 5 plus without any changes.

Before the record button is actuated the screen does not show any disturbances.
This as well in the appartment as outside.

After the record button is pressed a few seconds later the dissturbtion is seen on the screen as well as in the recorded video

Same behaviour in Galaxy S2 as well

So on your live feed, everything looks fine until you hit the record button, then it goes crazy on your screen?  Does it go back to normal when you stop recording again?

This might be  true for the old Galaxy S4 phone but this one is running like a charm and is complete overloaded with all you can inmagine. But here the DJI APP is running without any problems!!

The Xiaomi has a 2GB CPU and 4 MB RAM and the only app running is the DJI 4 GO APP:
Nothing running in the background.

After switching of the cache everything behaves normal!

What could be the solution for using the cache again.
External SD card in the Xiaomi?

Any other suggestions? or is  this a bug in the phone software?

External SD card did not solve the problem.
As soon as caching is active the problem reoccurs

Yes it goes back to normal after the record is stopped.
IWhen i repeat this several times after each other the time before the image start disdurbing takes longer.
I get the feeling that the problem is caused by a kind of cache overflow. Every time the record button is pressed it looks like a reset for an intermediate storage.

Of course the cache has been cleaned up before every trial

But please do not forget on the DJI 4 GO 4.2.16 all worked like a charm.
My only doubt with this version is that later improvements are not availeble!

Some additional information.
Playing videos with the highest resolution direct from  the drone in the DJI app without any disturbance.

AS i wrote already i reinstalled the app many times. I tried all versions between the latest and version 4.2.16 that was the last working app for me

performed a factory reset on the phone as well

I reinstalled again DJI 4 GO Version 4.2.16 that works fine so far.

Lets hope that a phone update or even better DJI includes my phone to the compatibility list.

Don’t count on it getting added to the list, A lot of phones that work great and been out for a while and DJI hasn’t put on the list.   Seems they wish to keep it limited.

Hopefully whatever was broken doesn’t return.

Since you have android you can always roll back the app as well, and install older app APK from webrowser until DJI sorts out bugs

You mentionned my phone is not on the list. This is partly true!
In fact the Xiaomi redmi note 5 is on the list. This phone is exactly identical to the Xiaomi redmi 5 plus
The problems startet after the update of my phone to Oreo 8.1 Hopefully DJI can proof this one day.

Still flying with DJI 4 GO app Version 4.2.16 without any problems. My only worry is that in case of trouble
DJI claims that i did not use the latest SW Version of the app.

Some more information about the disturbances in the Video transmition.

As I said already Version 4.2.16 works well!
Versions from 4.2.10 - 4.3.10 shows this behaviour but just by luck i found the following:

The problem is caused by the different camera settings.

All fps settings in all resolutins for 24,25,48,50 and 120 works fine!!!

30 and 60 fps cause this blurring effect. Normally it starts after a couple of seconds.

Any clue what this could be?

I know that DJI will say "Your phone is not on the compatibility list" but in fact it is as Redmi Note 5 and redmi 5 plus are identical
