Hi All,

This is a bit of a stretch to be included in my #PicPerDay challenge, but since a hyperlapse is just a series of images, I thought I'd go with it it.

Today was another gray and boring day outside, so no sunrises or sunsets to be captured.  I decided to do a bit of playing around with the Mavic 2's hyperlapse feature since I really haven't done a whole lot with it yet.

Below are 2 versions of the same hyperlapse that I captured with the Mavic 2 Pro's waypoint hyperlapse feature.

This first video is the auto-generated 1080p 25fps video file that the M2P automatically generates when you do a hyperlapse.

This second video is a clumsily processed version of the RAW image files and turned into a video.  First I took the raw dng files into Lightroom, did a bit of clumsy manipulation to them to try to bring out some of the muted colors.  I then exported those files out to JPG files and imported them into Adobe AfterEffects, added a warp stabilizer to the video and then exported to a 4K video file.  (p.s. Ignore the black bars, that's just me being an idiot on the export)

The edits were done quickly and clumsily, but just wanted to share the differences a LR and AE beginner can get compared to the default auto-generated file directly from the DJI software.

What do you think?

Hard call.
The colors (obviously) are better in the second one.
But in the end part the stabilization seems a bit better on the first one (where you are close to the poles).
Also the second one still has some flickering (very common on hyperlapses), but that could be corrected (even more work....)
Overall very nice hyperlapses!

Hard call.
The colors (obviously) are better in the second one.
But in the end part the stabilization seems a bit better on the first one (where you are close to the poles).

I agree with the stabilization issue.  Adobe's warp stabilizer is good at stabilizing the edges, but its not good at stabilizing items in the middle of the screen like are seen in this one.

The part that I don't understand is why there is so much movement in it in the first place.  Every one of my hyperlapses with the Mavic 2 has had the same sort of wobble to them even on extremely calm days like yesterday.  The stabilization issues are what is really holding me back from really getting some great shots with the M2 hyperlapse feature.  I need to play around with my settings more to see if its just something I'm doing....

In regards to the flickering, are you referring to what happens around the 0:16-0:18 second mark or are you referring to something else.  If in regards to that specific time where the last antenna goes off the left side, this is 100% my fault.  I had the exposure set to auto rather than manual.  Because of this, as that dark antenna slides across the screen on off to the left, the camera started adjusting the exposure.  If you look real close at the raw version, you can see this happening, but in the "processed" version, it is far more pronounced because of the clumsy color adjustments I made that multiplied the effect.

Thanks for the real feedback!  Much appreciated!
