A climb through the dark of night and then a two hour wait at the top of the 360m (1181ft)  high chimney for sunrise.

Many unauthorized people have climbed this chimney but so have maintenance workers.  The green pillar at the top was rusty last year but I bet they were wearing safety harnesses.  I'm sure a number of these high climber daredevils fall and die each year, still YouTube is just full of their antics, not for me, but it is spectacular video.

I know. I absolutely love the drone footage!
And you won't see me climbing up that thing.
But it might inspire other young daredevils.
Plus the race to the top will lead to more dangerous places probably
So that is why I'm in doubt if I want to promote this stuff.

In my community of climbers, it would be unheard of to climb without helmets, a belay rope and trained climbing partners.  I don't see any form of protection in the videos posted.  Not trying to start an argument on the internet....they are pointless.  Just suggesting the posters look into training and safety procedures well accepted in the climbing world.  The alternative, according to Darwin, is quite harsh.

Very beautiful video.  One reason I bought a drone is I am afraid of heights and I let the drone go up that high for me.

I'm with Monty on this, super cool footage, but nah not for me, I'll stay grounded and safe and would like to think all but a few daft people would attempt this sort of thing....... you are a long time dead, why rush to embrace it.

Me too, I don't even like to go to an edge that has a low handrail yet I can do loops in full sized airplanes and it doesn't bother me.  Maybe it's the 5 point seat belt that makes me brave.
