I frequently use the horizontal panorama function on my spark. This involves the drone taking 9 photos, 3x3

The dji go app stitches them perfectly and I can download a low res image no problem.

However the dji media maker app has no horizontal option and does not stitch the images together properly.

I have used auto merge on photoshop as well as hugin and many other applications. None of them are able to stitch the 9 photos satisfactorily.

Does anybody know of an application that can stitch the horizontal panoramas in the same fashion as the go app but in high res?

Microsoft Image Composite Editor (ICE) was recommended to me a while back.

I've never used the DJI app for stitching images together; this does them perfectly and I have never had any issues.

I just looked through the menu on a flight an there is only a 21 pic stitch for the Spark.

There is a 9 square horizontal panorama option on the spark.

I have a Mac so cannot use Microsoft ice. Has anybody any mac compatible suggestions?
Ideally a version of go 4 with high resolution stitching should be available

Hi Stephen. Is there any way of suggesting to the software engineers that the go 4 app be updated so that it can output the stitched images in a higher resolution. This should be a very simple addition and would solve a problem lots of people appear to be having.

Can't really help you with the 3x3, but:
If it is pure horizontal and not b/c the 3x3 is the only pano that can be centered to any angle,  do a 7x3 and crop later.

Just install  windows on your mac. There are other progs worth it, not just ICE, methinks
Best of both worlds, so to speak!

The thing is, the 3x3 is not really (or just) a horizontal one.
It is the only one you can choose the midle line/picture for the Pano.
Pointing the cam to the ground, -45, 0, all ° in between, it stays there and is capturing around that middle position.

Connect the spark to the controller and mobile device.
The 9 pic horizontal goes away.
I, too, saw it but only when the craft is disconnected.
O am at firmware .1000 and app 4.3.9
Firmware .1000 was for other issues, not "taking away" the 9 pic pano.

Mine does not go away! I take 9 pics panoramas every time that I fly. Yesterday was the last time.
So maybe for you the last firmware did take away the 9 pic pano, because it’s working perfectly fine for me.

Something is not right here.
I looked at a Spark video showing how to use from June 2017 and 9 shot pano is not there.
However, I go to DJI site and there it is...but not on my Spark.
And 0.1000 firmware did not take it away.
That is not in the release notes:

Do new sparks with the latest firmware have the 9 shot pano? My spark is 1 year old and has always supported the function. If the feature is still supported it would make sense for dji to update the go 4 app to support hi res stitching. Do other dji drones have this 9 shot pano feature?

It’s all very frustrating

Hi. I am having a similar issue. I am trying to stitch 46 jpeg images from my Spark and I can’t do it. I did use Pano camera mode and the Spark took 46 images. I can’t make a panorama in Lightroom or Photoshop 2019CC. I have a new Mac Mini (2018) with 32 GB of Ram and 6 core i7 processor. Why is everything so slow?.....frustrating!!!!

My apologies.
After selecting Pano, I only saw the sphere, 21 image horizontal and the vertical.
I never "scrolled down" on my iPhone 7 to reveal the 9 pic horizontal.
