I was flying my Mavic Pro Platinum yesterday when I lost it. I took it off and went up to take some pictures of the sky and I had my gimbal pointing upwards. The controller said I had weak GPS signal but the signal was not blocked and the drone was right above me. It said that the drone was 42 feet away. I took a few photos and my controller all of a sudden updated my location and I was TWO MILES away, and I had only been flying for TWO MINUTES! I tried to fly my drone home but to no avail. I hit return to home right before I lost connection.I lost it at three miles away. I am very disappointed as I got this drone for Christmas and had only had it for two days. I went and searched for it today, following the flight log, even going past the last position of the drone. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find it? Your help would be appreciated!

Did you make sure you got a good gps signal and home point before you took off? And generally the worst reception is when the drone is straight up above you. I know it won’t help now, but  always make sure you get a good home point before you take off or else the drone doesn’t have a good point to come home to.

Yes, I did. I had flew it several times before in the same spot and it had perfect gps signal.

Did you perform an auto take off and receive the message "Home Point Recorded" ?

No, I did not do a auto takeoff, I did a manual one but the home point was set.
