This happened last night unplugging an extension cable. Easy as anything, no pressure, just popped right out! Looks like only a small amount of glue holding it, maybe softened by the heat this thing puts out?  Not impressed

Why should I have to buy spares?! It’s a week old and going back.

There's one other post here with a similar problem.  As I suggested too them, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the Support tab, open an online Chat session.  Have the SN ready and be prepared to give them a link to this Post.  You'll  be requesting/demanding a Case # to get a replacement.  Offer to return the defective part if they provide a postage paid RMA.  For now use the USB-C port on the bottom of the device.

Be sure to have the "upper" connection (where the connectors attached) closed.  Put the cover that it came with on.  When you use the bottom port for data, the upper port has to be 'closed' or off.  Replacing the cover does that.

I'm using the USB-C to Lightning cable made by Apple and it works fine with mine.
