I finally bought my new Foredom flex shaft power carver, at Lee Valley Tools

It doesn’t include the hanger.

My Dremel Flex Shaft is just not powerful enough to do the heavier jobs.

It’s a Foredom, so quite the nice tool. 1/6 hp. Carve, Cut, Grind, Polish, more...

Do any of you carve, perhaps hard wood, soap stone, marble, other materials?

Thanks. Yes, they do make quality products. Lee Valley Tools, are known for their high standards here in Canada,, and they are certainly respected around world.

Similar in many ways to Rockler... but with our Canadian class. Haha

I did buy a dremel recently (present for my brother in law), but other than that I have one memory on these tools. That is the modelbuilding stuff my uncles and dad do.
They all have one of these tools with multiple addons.
Very handy for cutting and grinding all kinds of stuff.

Yes, they are multi tools. My kit came with the #44 handpiece, but I also need a #30. With Jacobs Chuck.
That’s so I can add the 2” angle grinder option.

So far I haven't turned something to store my Phantom.

So, as it was such a beautiful warm day today, I went for a blast on the SpYder RS-S.

Headed on down the Whitemud freeway, flew past West Edmonton Mall, straight over to Lee Valley Tools.

Yeah, I have bought the Foredom #30 Handpiece. So this is all coming together, rather quickly....

What kind of horse power are those Dremels? I saw a few of them at Lee Valley. But never inquired, acquired any info, nor have I searched them out, in the online catalog.

It seems today, that many different company products are simply gadgets and gizmos that are not always really beneficial to the subject or activity they represent. But we are a gadget driven society.

We love watching infomercials that impress us with more junk to fill our kitchen cupboards and counters.
Aging society, lots of health benefit products and devices, to make you feel, better. Haha


Yes, we are surrounded by it all every damn day. Unless you can release the property and become a minimalist. We guard our crap, and are often prisoners to it.  
Some people collect so much stuff they become hoarders, and need serious intervention.
Hopefully, I can get a handle on my own collection. ;-)

Archery, is another one, a wonderful place to collect “all” the gear... drop a few $K easy. haha

My carpentry - cabinet making hammers and axes are some of my fav., tools.

Roofing hammers are cool, I like mine anyway. Ha

Carrying bundles of shingle on your shoulders up a ladder, is hard work... I am good, thanks...

In case of emergency, I keep my surgical implement within arms reach... grin

The placement pattern of the tar based shingles is interesting.

Yeah man. It’s wonderful, the sound of power tools, the smell of saw dust, all them grades and types of wood.

It was quite the wonderful course.

I was working on the ceiling of our rehearsal room yesterday evening.
(we are making an extra ceiling with insulation at 9m height....)
Total of 80m2.
Lot's of timber for the framing, lots of cutting and I really love that smell indeed.

My family grew up in the mountains of Alberta, and cutting fire wood was a constant, saws, axes, wedges, stacking logs to dry, with split wood neatly in cords to store for winter. I love wood, working with it, building constructing detailing edging finishing gouging hammering identifying joists & knobs leveling milling nailing operating painting qualifying rubbing staining training undercutting veining weaving xtra special haha yew zebra
