I'm planning on going flying this morning. But I can't figure out how to do this. Sometimes when I start up the tablet again, the map is gone. I won't have any wifi beyond the house.

Enable the "Cache Map in the Background" setting in the "General Settings" section of the DJI Pilot application.

It's not in "MC Settings". It's in "General Settings".

Gah! I still can't see it. I click on the four dots, it opens the page titled "other"...I can see an option for "video cache" only map option I see is "calibrate for china mainland". I don't see an option for cache map in background??

Are you running version 1.1.0 of the DJI Pilot application? If not, reinstall it from here:

Are you sure this caching function isn't only on iOS devices?

(yes I'm running 1.1.0)

There are certainly differences between the Android and iOS applications. It would be a good idea to make sure you're using the latest version though.

I understand. And I understand about zooming in to the desired map region while connected to wifi at home. However, this is what I did last night, and when I launched the app this morning the map was gone!

In the thread below, people are saying they scroll around in Google Maps to cache the maps. The Android version of the DJI Pilot application is apparently using those maps. It might be worth a shot.
