We spent 9 days in South New Zealand in a motorhome. These are the highlights of our trip. This country has one of the best landscapes we have ever seen.


It is a little tricky if you want to fly recreationally in NZ. You must first get permission from DOC and/or public land owner, then follow CAA rules(check airshare for no fly zone) it cost about 50USD per DOC regions.

Very very nice. Well put toether. The south Is. is so beautiful. I went back in 2013 but did not have a drone back then. It was early December and snowed up on the peaks. Did not make it to Milford Sound as the weather caused a landslide or something. The helicopter up to the top of the mountain was one of highlights for sure Thanks for sharing.

Nicely filmed and edited - well done.

I've travelled around the South Island twice in a motorhome now and I think you captured your experience well (the finish with you both sitting by the lake was very cool BTW). When I went around, I loved how cars on some roads were so few that you'd wave to each other as you crossed directions. And what I didn't love was emptying those grey water tanks - erk!

I was scheduled for 12pm cruise but when I check the weather it was going to rain, I contacted them and changed it to 10am. Right when we get back it was raining hard. Maybe the next time you comeback you will see the beauty of Milford sound.

Thanks Punchbuggy! Lucky for you for going there twice. I wish we have more time because there is so much more to see in the South. Yeah, people with the same motorhome rental wave to use all the time. Grey water on our motorhome was separate from poop and pee so it wasn't an issue, it was the poop and pee itself, lol.
