Hello all of you experienced and not experienced video editors.

I would like to start a thread where we discuss what tools we can use to edit out videos.

What is your preferred tool for editing? Are there any free tools out there that does the job, or is it always better to buy something?

I have just started using iMovie, buth there are so many limitations to this program that I would like to know what would make things better.

I have worked with Final Cut and similar proffessional tools during my education - but as this is many years ago, I believe that there are many more out there that will do the same for less money.

Looking forward to hear what you use and recommend.

Great list Phantom, thanks for putting that up.  Has anyone used the Goldwave Video Editor?  It's put out by a fellow in Canada, their music program is very good.  They are at "goldwave.com"  I am going to give them a try once I start doing video with the Mavic Pro Platinum.

I have been looking around, and I think that I'm going to try DaVinci Resolve as you mentioned.

Would go for Final Cut or AVID but the price is to high for a newbie program.

I think that list should be a sticky thread admin.  I've only been here a week or so, and I've seen it asked multiple times.
