Over kill? I don't know. I think it offers a lot of options on how to mount and use the OP.

I don't think it is overkill. The fact that it can hold the wireless base securely while still allowing the wheel to be used and also access to mounting holes / tripod base is great.

Asking price of $35 is pretty cheap as well considering the materials and design effort put in

Looks great! A bit over kill for everyday use, but I like the idea of the handle grip, it would add an extra bit of weight and size to make it easier to get smoother videos for some nice B-roll footage or a small multi cam setup. The Arca Swiss design is also a great idea as it saves having to attach a quick release plate to the wireless module.

I received an email from them too. Seems like pre-orders will be sent payment instructions in a few days but it won't start shipping until March.
