I have the exact same ones, they are perfect when you cannot land in your palm!
Haven't had any compass issue because of these.

First hand experience good then thats a relief

how are they in your opinion does the spark bounce alot or it sinks and rises slowly to absorb shock?

Only metallic objects could affect the compass, the landing gears are plastic therefore ok.

Can they be used with a battery clip? Loosing the battery in mid air is worst than landing in the mud!

I took my electric grinder wheel to the battery clip and narrowed it down some...now the clip and prop guards or landing struts fit fine.  You could also probably use a sharp knife or x-acto to do the same.

There you go...
3D printed battery clip. Any clip can be probably be slightly crafted to fit.
Leg and prop-guard as one piece is also an option.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. with regards to your question, the only thing will affect the compass would be magnetic or any large metallic object. You may notice if there's interference when calibrating the compass.

its possible because the compass needs to be away metal of any sort at least 50 meters

Nice but now I need a 3d printer. (just kidding I needed a 3d printer long before already).
I guess I will start by buying a dremel.

If the metal is stainless steel, it's magnetic effect is much reduced.

So just to clear things up a bit - A permanent change to the magnetic field will be eliminated when the Spark is re-calibrated.  What kills it is if it is re-calibrated in an unusual mag. field (like on concrete containing rebar) and then you fly somewhere else and the mag. field changes.  So, the little springs should have no effect on the calibration but if they do you can simply re-calibrate to eliminate it.
Clear as mud?
