I tried but where I live it's hard to find good stuff like that. I finally bought a spark case online.

Nice!  I too have been looking for a DIY case that is deep enough to handle my remote with tablet mount and Spark with landing gear attached.

There are many types of Tool Boxes in Hardware stores... Some are deeper and smaller in size..  Depends what each person needs size wise.    For me I wanted something i can literally pack and have everything ..

Yes that's why I picked that one.  Looks like a brief case.    There were other models that were made of plastic that looked more like a fishing tackle box..

LOL True...  I don'y do any mountain trekking.   It's mainly so I can travel with everything all in the one case..

Yeah might be a bit squashy with a Phantom lol...  I need the hard case for overseas travel.. It  can get knocked around a bit and inside things will be safer than in a soft case..
