Hi all,

             I'm really curious to know which soc (cpu+ gpu) and how much RAM does the smart controller have!??!
Anyone owning one can help (installing any app like CPU-Z)?

Although I do think cpu-z didn’t identify correctly the soc: given cpu cluster size anche gpu model it should be a Rockchip RK3399 and not a RK3066.

With the CrystalSky, CPU-z also misreported the CPU/GPU package.  I found that Passmark does yield the correct info on the CS. See: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... 131&pid=1630958

Perhaps someone can give it a go on Passmark? Would be interested in seeing benchmark results as well.

I think if you keep the smart controller lean by not installing too many additional Android apps then 16GB with added Micro SD card should be more than sufficient.

Yep, that's my plan, bought to fly the drone, all the pre-flight can be done with the phone in my pocket. Keep it simple, less to go wrong.

The only downside I found with the smart controller is no onboard SIM card expansion. I think DJI should have included an OcuSync 2.0 + WiFi + Cellular version of the device, this way it could have been an always connected tablet device that can live stream without needed to connect to your phone's LTE access point, thus making the stream that much faster and watchable.

Its INCREDIBLY nice to see a real answer to the actual question, instead of a guess (disguised as knowledge) or just completely misunderstanding the orig question, due to any number of factors, mostly just not reading it fully or comprehensively enough!

I wish that someone wouldve posted this same answer on similiar questions regarding the CrystalSky Monitors! (May be one but I havent found it.) I think alot of folks are trying to compare the 2 device options, and its hard to figure out without having them both in your hands, however, I feel the CS is way underequipped to handle what the Smart RC is cspable of?

Yes, totally agree!

I can only assume that DJI THINKS that they may be the only ones to use a C compiler, the Rockchip RK3399 SOC is available on this development board for cheap! Maybe it's time to head back to the compiler and grab a copy of their RM500 SDK.. possibly for the Mavic 2 as well. I remember what happened to DJI the first time they messed with the Mavic users/owners a few years ago.. their App/firmwares got modified according to what the public needed/wanted.. possibly a relapse in time DJI?

If you want to sell a USEFUL product and engineer it to be USELESS because of marketing etc, be prepared for the public domain to make good on their purchase and make it useful themselves!

Anyone know if the processor is the same, I ordered a air 2S fly more with smart controller a few days ago having second thoughts on this controller
so are the controllers the same as the 2019 models or have they done upgrades on the electronic components & processor or just firmware upgrades
don't get me wrong 2600.00 Canadian  thinking your getting newest technology but your getting a old 2019 remote
