When I am powering down my Mavic 2 Pro after a session by doing the quick press and then press and hold.

LED 1 on the battery flashes repeatedly for a short period of time and then stops, with the drone appearing to have shutdown correctly.

Is the flashing LED 1 normal and if not does anyone know what it means?

After a shutdown one of the battery LED's does flash a few times then goes out. If that's what you mean then everything appears to be OK.

Yep that is what happens. I will just take it as normal behaviour. Thanks for your post.
