Out of curiosity, why is one star on the Aussie flag 5 pointed?
In USA, every school kid is taught about our flag. But then, playing trivia with friends yesterday, a shocking number did not know how many stripes there are.
From memory the star underneath the Union Jack is the Federation star which is a symbol of all the states in Australia joining the federation. 7 Points for 6 states and 1 territory. The other set of stars are the southern cross which are a group of stars we see here in the southern hemisphere. The union Jack is from England which we were once a colony. |
