I took this footage of the River Torrens at dusk.  It’s colours are very subdued and muted.  Let me know what you think.

Think Spark did not create for that. The sensor is weak. IMO almost the whole footage looks underexposed. It's not your fault just limitations of the cam. I've colided with that recent month when tryed to shoot after 4.00 p.m near the waterfall. Just took a couple of foto from bird's view and gived up quickly. Someting like that.

As the others have said, the video is way underexposed.
Turn up that exposure!
Also I wouldn’t fly so low to the water, as the sensors might get confused and the spark will dive into the water! It happened before many times to pilots, so watch out!!!

cannot work properly on surfaces without clear pattern variations and highly reflective surfaces.

That’s true, but on the Spark you can’t turn off the bottom sensors.
On the Mavic Pro on the other hand, the bottom sensors can be switched off.
Maybe it has something to do with that on the Spark, the bottom sensors are optical,
And on the Mavic Pro those same bottom sensors are ultrasonic.

Well, personally, I like the dark mood and the music choice is perfect for it!  Happy that the Spark did not take a drink flying that close
The water ripples from the Spark are cool too.

Glad the very risky flight over water (or lava) was uneventful.  Real photographers only fly over water or make sure a body of water is nearby.  I think it is a rule or something.

No no no, don’t do it!
I covered the bottom sensors once when I was first attaching the separate gsm gps unit,
And the drone would just rise non stop!
As it thinks that it’s right on the ground, touching it.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. That's the reason why we're not recommending our customers to fly the drone near on the bodies of waters as this may affect your flight. Thank you for understanding.

I went out for a fly, intending to take some footage, flying low over water and, when I got back home, I put it all together.  I knew it was on the dark side but I decided to post it anyway because I thought it looked quite good, a bit subdued, dark and mysterious.  I liked it.  However, as they say, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

DJI Tony, thanks for the advice/warning.  I’ve done this a few times now.  It makes for great footage.  You can rest assured that I am watching that little drone like a hawk.  I’m not looking at, or relying on, the sensors, I’m controlling visually, making slight adjustments on the sticks, when needed.

I’ve posted quite a few videos of low flights over water.  I haven’t had any problems so far.  I find that visual, physical observations of the drone, rather than relying on the sensors, has worked for me.  Like I have already said, I watch the drone like a hawk and it’s never too far away from me.  I’ve always got a really good bead on it.

Lusak2003, I don’t turn anything off.  I just watch the drone, really closely.  REALLY CLOSELY.

MccloudSpark, thanks for the feedback.  I kinda liked it too, otherwise I wouldn’t have posted it.
The ripples do make a good effect, plus they indicate how close to the surface the drone actually was.

Well here is the thing, i loved the idea of being dark as it gives it cinematic effect, however i would added some bright shots to improve the clip, but as it is, i liked it this way it has some deep feeling that kept me watch it till the end .
