Thanks Charissa. There was a quite a bit of a headwind so only managed a little over 4km @45km/h in Sport mode before the battery dropped to under 50%.  Would've easily flown another km on a calm day. But in reality the 24 minute flight time is still not enough to go where I wanted to go!!!

Yeah, dark by 5PM the moment here in the UK but the days are slowly getting longer - won't be long until it's still light enough to fly at 9PM

Wow 9pm! That's even longer than here at down under. I'm hoping to do a nice sunset shoot some time soon. But there's only a 15 minute window to do it, and have to hope there's no people around.

Standard Platinum, but recently started using the No Limit Dronez hacked app, just for its simplicity compared to the original DJI app. Would've loved to try tweaking the flight dynamics because some extra speed will be useful for certain videos. But I just don't think the gimbal can handle it so haven't done it and not likely to try it.

An aluminium-air battery sounds just perfect to double or even triple flight times plus rechargeable thousands of times New battery technologies.

Just look how far lithium based batteries have come in just a few short years.

Only downside is that your Mavic could be obsolete by the time that these new batteries become commercially available, but then the replacements should be even more feature packed and exciting

Absolutely! I have to say the existing battery life is pretty impressive but don't we all get spoiled and keep wanting more LOL

I have tried all the NLD flight modes and the Sport+ is just too much for the drone IMO. Asking for issues.
There is a certain amount of logic and common sense needed to apply and operate the mods. Appears you have both.

I was also recently enlightened on a drone side mod that allows the use of FCC, Boost (1.5w), and the button looping of the 2 other available frequencies to help increase range a bit. Maybe would help you to get some of those islands further out? Google jkson_fcc_mod as I do not want to post mod links in the DJI forums. I have applied it but weather has not permitted testing. Others have already tested and works great.

I know. 45 minutes would be much better
