Hey all,

Got the Smart Controller today and I cannot seem to get the stick settings for Custom to save. I go into the Stick Settings>Custom and assign the buttons. If I hit the back arrow only the up/down controls stay like I programmed them, the rest store opposite of what I saved them as. If I hit reset, assign them again, and use the "x" button to leave the screen, and then go back they appear correctly but do not work as they show on screen.

Details of the configuration:

Aircraft Firmware Version: V01.00.0300

Remote Control Firmware Version: v01.00.0310

App Version: v4.3.10

Has anyone else had this issue?

Just adding here that the 1/29/2019 Firmware (v01.00.0350) does not resolve this issue.

Further adding that the 2/1/2019 Firmware update (V01.00.0360) also does not resolve this issue.

I suppose it looks like 99.9% of users use #2 mode, so probaly why lack of interest.
However have you tried contacting a moderator, one of them should be able to check with engineers, I would recommend dji Mindy or dji Susan

I've got a ticket opened on this and it's been passed on to engineering. Absolutely agree with the high likelihood of this being a seldom encountered use case with most people using Mode 2. Just want to have it out there in the event it helps anyone else.

Also to note I've re-paired the normal Mavic 2 controller with the same stick configuration and it works correctly so it's highly likely subsequent firmware updates will eventually resolve the issue.

As of moment, we suggest you use Mode 1 and Mode 2 and don't use customized function for the meantime. We will fix it in the future updates. Thanks for your understanding.

I've been having the same exact problem with my smart controller.  It looks like it's been a month since this was forwarded to engineering.  DJI Natalia, do you have any updates or news for us affected by this bug?  Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me today.  Thought I was going crazy!    At least now I know it's a known bug and hopefully DJI is working to fix it.

Just an update that 1.00.0400 still doesn't resolve the issue.

I used custom to program the left stick for throttle up and down, and left and right; and the right stick for forward and back, and yaw left and yaw right; and it did save.  But (isn't there always a but) startup requires both stick to lower left  ( that's ok) and left is right and right is left (not so ok).  and now custom seems locked in these modes.  I'm unable to change any of them.

Any updates as to if this is fixed in .0530 firmware?

Just an update that 1.00.0530 still doesn't resolve the issue.

Me too having the same problem. All the settings are saved as opposite. That's weird. Resetting everything didn't solved the problem. All updates were done.

I did the last update of djigo4 and Smart contrôler.
I use a custom mode (reverse 1 direction) but now when i do that 2 x directions are reversed !

Impossible to reverse only yaw or other ..... It's a huge bug !!!

I also have tried to reverse the up and down to be consistent to flying a plane, pull back and the plane goes up push forward the plane goes down, but I see this is a known problem.

Still not fixed, no fix in sight?? Please DJI allow us custom stick configuration.  While defaults are ok for most, some of us have specific needs in specific situations that require customization!  This is a feature of the product, and as such it should work as advertised.

I’m have error said

Take off failed confirm that the throttle sticks are centered,
Asked official about it
They said send us the countroller we will check

Meanwhile I needed something and somewhere I do want smartcontroller
So I just purchased that
And  
I’ve got a smart controller
Wow

Connected it
All well everything working fyn
Went out for test flight

And guess wot

Takeoff failed, confirm that the throttle sticks are centered.

Can any1 help regarding this issue plz

One thing is clear it’s not controller error though it says throttle sticks but I’ve changed the controller still Same error

I just got a new mavic 2 pro with the dji smart controller, and the custom mode doesnt let le to reverse only the yaw right/left... it automatically reverse the up and down :/
I think it’s the same problem as you... any solution ?

I have the same issue. I've had to relegate my Mavic 2 smart controller to a dedicated FPV monitor. Can anyone confirm is the same issue is present with the Mavic 3 Cine?

I have this same problem. Custom stick configuration will not save. This has actually caused a crash (on takeoff) and is unacceptable. This is a >$700 product. Is someone at DJI working on this?

This is my experience.

I have been communicating with DJI for a few weeks on this issue with no success.  I hope someone can help me.
I have the DJI Smart Controller RM500 HVIN:16G.  I want to set the stick mode 2 and reverse the throttle stick only.  I was able to do this on the Mavic Pro controller.  When I try to do this on the Mavic 2 Pro Smart Controller, it reverses the right stick also.  I cannot decouple these actions.  Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Will DJI ever fix this?
