Due to the possibility of a business trip to Romania, I have decided to check the UAV laws
According to https://uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-romania/,
"...
  • To fly a drone in Romania, you must register it with the AACR. If you are a foreigner, it appears that a registration with your country of citizenship could take the place of registering with the AACR, but we recommend checking with the AACR to confirm this before traveling.
  • In addition to registering, each flight must be pre-approved by the Ministry of Defense.
  • ...."
I have stopped reading after #2
Seriously??

I'm not sure about our colleagues. who fly in romania, perform all the points. Romania - the former country of the socialist camp. And in these countries, the severity of laws is greatly mitigated by the non-necessity of their execution and universal refusal.

LOL, I thought that much, and I am well familiar with that quote, being from USSR originally.
Having said that, considering the mandatory luggage screening due to the air travel, feels like an unnecessary risk. The last thing I need is trouble with Securitate over a couple of short videos and scenic pics...

Yeah... it'd be purely opportunistic, not that I'd be making a movie for NG...
And according to my experience even here in States, flying a drone always gets public's attention. since it's still a novelty. Imagine a much poorer and way more corrupt country, not unlike our mutual "motherland".  I'd be accosted and pressed for bribes before I could take off.

We have a similar.
I realized a long time ago that it was necessary to carefully choose the point of take-off. How to eliminate the risk of loss of communication. But the main thing is to exclude the curious. Curious, in the simplicity of the soul, climb with tips, questions, memories just at that moment. when I need to focus on flight control.

What about flights in Romania - there are guys from this country. Fly, shoot videos and post them here.

sorry for double post ---

but yeah so basically .. too high risk to fly in romania ?

according to that webpage https://www.drone-made.com/blog/romania-drone-laws

If you do not intend to fly within a restricted or controlled airspace, you will not need this .. means, not need to register your drone
do i get that right? can anyboy confirm ?

thank you!

Mike

Well a traveller to Romania last month with the mavic air and flew it no problem

Only thing a had to do was remove props and put them in check in luggage and put the batteries in them fire retardant bags

No one batted an eyelid when a flew the drone, a wouldn’t listed too much too scaremongering

You will have to put that bag through the security check (the one you put your jacket keys phone in a box etc), a don’t know how you will get on with having the props on though

Carrying them in your jacket might be ok, only reason a bought the fireproof bags was based on advice a was given.

Romania is an amazing country, superb food and really welcoming people.

ok i see - i ordered a bag now for that , thanks for the idea!

I guess i'll wrap the props with other thigns and see how it's going :S

but yeah - it looks like a huge mess to register your drone in that country.

did they ask you anything when they saw the drone at the airport?

I flew in Romania about a month ago without issue. I would avoid flying in Bucharest if I were you, but the countryside is quite lovely. AIRMAP lets you send notification, but I never received a response.

They only looked at the controller strangely enough, a just had to explain to the guy what it was for.

It's a pity DJI doesn't have an ability for you to easily select the country you want to fly and give you a one stop shop access to the information and certificates needed.

post back after you come back and say how your experience had been, cause its good to know for things the airport you go to will check.  The airport flew into and out was Cluj napoca
