good you didn't completely wipe out on a hill sound like would been a terrible hike to get to it..the  mavic air is a bit more sensitive to being banged up vs bigger drones like mavic pro and mavic 2... but its size sometimes plays to its advantage as it can fit into spaces that very tight.. i myself have managed to get my mavic air buried in a tree once before..it didn't crash lost signal for a moment and managed to fly into a tree and caught itself because obstacle avoidance stopped it.. but getting out without crashing was difficult.   i dont recommend flying outdoors with the prop guards on though unless still learning,  wind will affect it alot more and be easy to bounce around the gimbal and it may reduce flight times with added drag and weight.

Great video and great story behind it.
Glad to see you recovered from the crash.
I Might think now about using the prop guards when I fly in a wooded area.

Hahah, love that frase: air buried

I don't use prop guards if I'm flying high and shooting scenery but when I shoot among the trees and such, I put them on so i don't have to worry if i bump into one

I would rather avoid the trees than add weight to my drone

Good story.
Maybe the moral 'should' be : watch your drone yourself

OOPs . . .I guess it happens, glad you got the craft back.  I am a newbie and have the propeller guards on every flight.  When I was trying to fly helicopters. I wore a motorcycle safety helmet, but with the drone, I keep it a good distance from me.

If I would get just a cent for every time I've crashed a drone (not DJI one, tho) I would be a rich man.

But with the trees you can get some really cool shots

My experience with a smaller drone is the prop guards and trees is you end up needing a ladder or a chainsaw to get it down.

Hahaha good point!

But don't get me wrong, I put prop guards just in case of it hitting a tree or something, I don't intentionally go hit trees and walls

It's a peace of mind thing
