Recently (a few days ago) I bought an Osmo Pocket. This is my problem too. If I connect to the phone, it will start charging the phone immediately and it will draw its own battery fast enough.
The phone is Samsung galaxy 8S +
Awaiting response.

It's completely unnecessary to charge the phone. Phones screen time is 4-5 hours in general.
Osmo pocket is the weak link, because it is approx. 2 hours.
If you plug it in, you will pass it on to the phone, which will last longer.
Please make sure you turn off the power on the menu.

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. Yes. When the Osmo Pocket is connected to an Android phone by connecting the smartphone adapter, the Osmo Pocket will charge the mobile phone at 5V and 500 mA. This is regulated by the Android Open Accessory (AOA). As the Osmo Pocket keeps charging to the mobile phone, the Osmo Pocket's battery life will be slightly reduced. To make the Osmo Pocket work longer, it is recommended that the Wireless Module be used. Thank you for understanding.

In my opinion, there is no need to charge the phone.
Please ask the engineers, is it possible to disable this in the firmware?

This is a phone issue, not on the Osmo Pocket side. Some phones will always take a charge when plugged into something, others wont.

When the phone is powered, it is normal.
Why is Osmo pocket powered?
Why not just the data connection works.

Its just how the USB spec is designed. The Pocket is not the only device that does this with certain Android devices.

Yes, but if you turn off the power on the USB connector, it wouldn't happen.
I have a USB cable that does not charge only data lines, and there is a cable that can only be charged.
If the DJI wanted to, it could have solved ...

You guys just don't understand.  Can it be done? Yes, Can it be done under Android/USB-C certification? No. I don't know if they can file for an exemption, If they can, it will cetainly require a bunch of paperwork and certification process. It's also possible that a 3rd party vendor may produce a adapter that only provide data but no power.

What about USB power delivery? My phone offers to charge the Osmo (far preferable!), but the connection is reset when I do that, back to Charge Only
