Depends of where am i going, and what for.
Generally a camera backpack is a good solution, carrying all your gear (including camera-lens and some personal stuff), when travelling, but for a short time out, or a drone flying time, appears to be a good solution the carrying bag comes in fly more combo or a camera case like the one in photo, i use offten. Many bag brands offer a lot of practic cases for cameras, which are not too bad to accommodate for MA carrying bag if the dji one is not satisfacting you. That's the second major pros of MA, as you can place it in a  pocket and walk out.

Some of those are fantastic cases and bags.  I'm sure if I was traveling in rough environments I might like them.  That said, the whole reason i bought My Air was it's portability.  I generally keep mine in it's original hard case with it and all the accessories in the Mavic Pro fly-more bag.  That bag is small enough to go into my backpack with whatever else I'm carrying with me (when going on trips that would usually be my laptop, headphones , etc...).

I personally love the personalization of cases offered by Pelican, which is what I'm using now. If you haven't heard of them before, they are hard cases with little foam squares you can pluck out to make customized slots for your gear.

They can be pretty pricey, especially for their standard 1510 cases. There a lot of great alternatives, especially from Nanuk and another company called Seahorse. Hard case users, of course.

I use a DJI branded hardcase to carry my Mavic 2 zoom. I may need to replace it with a bigger case as I add more batteries.  I need something really tough that will protect the drone if the case drops or gets thrown about.  As a firefighter, we travel on some pretty rough dirt tracks and gear gets tossed around. It will be interesting to see how well the drone copes with this environment

Given the current general animosity towards drones I transport mine up my jacksie. Needless to say I won't be upgrading to any of the larger models.

I haven't really had issues when out and about. I agree it's silly people are spooked by new tech but eventually people will get used to it

The intended application of the themed question applies for potentially hazardous handling encountered
In other words, from indoor bedroom out to backyard launch, transport unfeasible toward themed question, right?

And here it is holding my latest drone - the Mavic 2 Pro with three batteries and the standard RC. Fits perfectly!

I use the MC-Cases for my drones as they work very well and offer a ton of storage. There are some hidden storage areas too that help you really pack away the accessories.Included the other 2 drones so you could see how much smaller the Mavic Air case is in comparison to the M2P and P4Pv1

I am using the DJI Mavic Pro 1 Bag for MP1. Fits almost everything perfectly. I can squeeze in the charger if I mount one of the battries into the MP housing. Usually I remove the battery while transporting. Used a few types of casing but they became bulky very quickly. Came back to this and have been using it since. Its a bit snug but fits everything if necessary (everything = MP, RC, 3 batt, charger and mains cable, USB SDcard adaptors, iphone charging cable, DJI battery charging hub, and the DJI filters)..

$39.00 Apache 3800 water/dust resistant plastic case from Harbor Freight.
Pick apart foam so I could customize it to fit EVERYTHING that came with my Mavic Air Fly More Combo.
Very happy with this and didn't have to purchase an EXPENSIVE case.

I totally agree with you on this Sean. I found this resource before looking at pelican case alternatives. You might enjoy it:
